How to care for your merino wool scarf
Merino wool offers many advantages, including its resistance to absorbing odors and its antibacterial properties. To refresh your scarf, simply air it out rather than washing it. Within 24 to 48 hours, it will regain its original appearance. However, in case of accidents, such as a spilled coffee, follow these steps:
1. Use a Suitable Detergent.
We recommend using EUCALAN products specially designed to protect wool and other delicate fabrics.
Avoid using any product containing bleach when washing wool.
2. Prepare the water
Fill a basin with warm water and add the soap, following the instructions on the bottle. Pour the soap into the basin with enough warm water to fully immerse the scarf. The water temperature should be room temperature, between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
3. Soak the Wool
Completely immerse the scarf in the soapy water and let it soak for two minutes. Then, gently stir it for about a minute.Do not soak the wool for more than a few minutes, as its fibers could deform.
4. Rinse the Scarf
If you use Eucalan products, rinsing the scarf is not necessary. Otherwise, use warm water in the basin to rinse the wool scarf several times to remove the soap. Rinse until the water has virtually no traces of soap.Ensure that the rinsing water is at the same temperature as the soaking water.
5. Gently Squeeze the Scarf
Place the scarf on a towel and gently press to remove as much water as possible.
IMPORTANT: Do not wring the scarf to remove water.
6. Dry Flat
Avoid hanging the Merino wool scarf to dry as it may deform. Instead, lay it flat on a clean surface or on a towel.
By following these steps to wash your Merino wool scarf, it will maintain its beauty, and you can enjoy wearing it for as long as you wish.
